With just 23 days to go until the 2014 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix an exciting new off-track entertainment initiative, Behind the Bikes, has been announced.

Free for all ticket holders, Behind the Bikes will provide fans with an exclusive insight into the world of international motorcycle racing, delving deep into the industry and technology that is MotoGP.

Guest speakers, including riders and representatives from manufacturers, Motorcycling Australia, Dorna, IRTA and Bridgestone, will provide fans with a unique look behind the scenes, sharing their specialist knowledge of the sport.

Former team manager Jeremy Burgess, who worked with Valentino Rossi, Mick Doohan and Wayne Gardner in MotoGP for over 30 years, is looking forward to sharing his stories with fans at the 2014 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.

“The inner workings of MotoGP teams are carefully guarded secrets beacuse you are always looking to get an edge on your competitors,” Burgess said. “I’m certainly eager to share the experiences I’ve had over my long career and give fans an inside look into a world that I’ve been very privileged to encounter first-hand.”

Australian Grand Prix Corporation general manager of motorsport and entertainment, Craig Fletcher, welcomed the addition of Behind the Bikes to the already bumper line up of off-track entertainment.

“We’ve listened to our fans and come back with something that meets what they really want, which is an in-depth look into the world of MotoGP via some of the industry’s most informed and experienced players,” Fletcher said.

“At no extra expense to ticket holders, patrons at Phillip Island will be the real winners getting additional bang for their buck on what is an already jam packed weekend of first class on and off-track entertainment.”

Fans visiting the Behind the Bikes stage will be able to get up close and personal with motorcycle royalty including Burgess, former Australian world champions Mick Doohan and Wayne Gardner, Repsol Honda’s Team Principal, Livio Suppo, plus many more.

The Behind the Bikes Stage will be located in Gardner Village opposite the www.spokes.com.au Autograph Stage. For tickets and more information on the 2014 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, please go to www.motogp.com.au.
