Kawasaki has built a 296 horsepower, supercharged, production motorcycle. Running a 998cc liquid-cooled engine that’s claimed to put out more power than any MotoGP racer, Kawasaki has also resurrected a legendary name in calling it the H2R.

Named after the legendary Kawasaki racers of the 70s, the H2R is the ultimate road bike, but it’s not a road bike. The H2R is the closed circuit version of Kawasaki’s new marquee model – and we can expect a production model to be released in the near future.

The production model may be a little way removed from this machine with its carbon-fibre bodywork, minimalist trellis frame and chassis dripping in top-notch running gear, but it’ll no doubt be impressive.

Just one look at this machine tells you it’ll have one of the best power to weight ratios and acceleration speeds around.
