The post-grand prix Valencia MotoGP test always generates great interest and that will be the case once more this week as the riders and teams gear up their preparations for 2015.

There are 27 riders scheduled to take part, with the test to be run over three days, concluding on Wednesday.

The likes of Repsol Honda’s Dani Pedrosa, along with Movistar Yamaha MotoGP pair Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo are scheduled to participate on all three days as they look to maintain their high levels of competitiveness.

World champion Marc Marquez has been given Monday off by his team to celebrate winning the Valencia race and the title this year.

For Ducati Team’s Andrea Dovizioso and his new teammate in the official factory team of the Italian manufacturer, Andrea Iannone, they will test only on Monday as their new bike for 2015 is not expected to be ready until after the winter break when testing resumes at Sepang.

Test rider Michele Pirro is scheduled to ride until the end of Wednesday however, as are Pramac Racing’s Yonny Hernandez and new colleague Danilo Petrucci.

When pit lane opens on Monday at midday there will be much focus on Aleix Espargaro and rookie Maverick Viñales as they get their first contact with the Suzuki GSX-RR – as their new adventure with the returning Japanese factory commences.

Gresini’s Alvaro Bautista has to wait until Tuesday to try his new Aprilia. He will be joined on track by Marco Melandri in riding the machine, but first another former grand prix rider Alex Hofmann will undertake some laps for Aprilia on Monday.

For the new CWM LCR Honda team they will welcome new signings Cal Crutchlow and Jack Miller into their ranks. Crutchlow will be riding his new factory specification RC213V, whilst Miller is expected to use an RCV1000R as he gets his first feel for MotoGP.

Thus far there is still limited availability of the new Honda RC213V-RS machine which Miller will race with next year, though Karel Abraham (Cardion AB Motoracing) and Nicky Hayden (Drive M7 Aspar) are expected to use the bike this week.

Hayden, meanwhile, will welcome new teammate Eugene Laverty into the Aspar team as of Monday, with the Irishman arriving from WSBK. Scott Redding will move onto an RC213V machine with the Marc VDS Racing Team as they arrive in the premier class.

The NGM Forward Racing team will also have a new look as of Monday’s first day of testing as the experienced Stefan Bradl joins the team, with MotoGP newcomer Loris Baz also coming in from WSBK.

The test schedule is 12 midday-5:00pm on Monday and 10:00am-5:00pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, with live timing available throughout on motogp.com. Coverage from the test will be aired on Fox Sports 5 in Australia.
