The fourth day of World Superbike testing at Jerez was starred by the heavy rain falling throughout the whole day, which forced teams and riders to a limited amount of work in treacherous conditions.

The protagonists did not surrender to adverse weather conditions and took it to the track anyway, with the fastest being Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) who lapped in 1m52.206.

The Englishman completed 37 quick revolutions of the Andalusian track over a total of 41 laps, meaning he spent his time working on the race distance.

Sykes was almost half a second faster than his new teammate Jonathan Rea, with reigning champion Sylvain Guintoli (Pata Honda World Superbike) and Randy De Puniet (Voltcom Crescent Suzuki) third and fourth fastest of the WSBK riders and a bit slower on their quick lap attempt.

MV Agusta riders Leon Camier (WSBK), Jules Cluzel and Lorenzo Zanetti (WSS) continue their on track duties along with the Ducati Superbike Team duo of Davide Giugliano and Chaz Davies. The Italian rider was unofficially the fastest rider of the day, as the team reported a lap-time of 1m51.9.

Tuesday’s quickest rider, Voltcom Crescent Suzuki’s Alex Lowes decided not to take any risk and completed only three laps.
