BCperformance has announced that Adelaide motorcycle dealership SA Motorcycles, with support from Kawasaki Australia, have completed a deal to field a six-rider team in the Australasian Superbike Championship.

With Kawasaki Australia’s backing, a deal was struck that will see the newly-formed SA Kawasaki BCperformance team field two riders within the Superbike, Supersport and Ninja 300 categories, creating the largest team in Australia.

The team will primarily concentrate on the Australasian Superbike series and will also make the trip to Phillip Island for the first round of the ASBK championship, run alongside the World Superbike opener in late February.

“I am excited to be involved with a truly professional team that, whilst it has some runs on the board, certainly has much more to come,” said SA Motorcycles managing director Evan Byles. “BCperformance understands the sport and the industry and working together we can have some fun and get results that the whole team can be proud of.

“Kawasaki makes world class product and I am proud to show what the bikes I sell from Gepps Cross, South Australia, every day can do on the race track.”

Alongside the partnership with SA Motorcycles, current backers Iceberg Enterprises and Landscape Supplies have increased their support for 2015 and will be joined by a new sponsor to be announced in the coming weeks.

Also joining the team are Ixil exhausts, Ipone oils, DNA air filters, Venhill brake lines, Fibrezone composites and Moto-Tron rearsets and tyre warmers.

“I am pleased to welcome on board SA Motorcycles along with our new and continuing sponsors; they are committed to seeing the team succeed and I cannot thank them enough for that,” explained SA Kawasaki BCperformance team manager Kelvin Reilly.

“Evan is a pretty handy racer himself and I look forward to working with him for the upcoming season. I appreciate the faith Kawasaki Australia have shown with their support of our new team.”

Riders for 2015 will be decided over the upcoming weeks and will be announced shortly.
