Australian Linden Magee won the New Zealand Superbike TT on Sunday for the Geoff Perry Memorial Trophy, finishing second overall at Hampton Downs.

The M1Motorsport BMW rider topped the 20-lap affair, which was red-flagged and restarted two laps in when a light rain shower washed the circuit. Upon restart it was Magee who was the victor ahead of Sloan Frost and Nick Cole.

“I was surprised and stoked with the TT and Geoff Perry Memorial silverware, trophy and ribbon,” Magee commented. “Very happy for our sponsors, the team and myself to come away with the TT win and second overall after a very trying weekend.

“It just shows hard work and being consistent pays off. [I’ll] get some more treatment on my injured arm this week and will hit the ground running for the final round.”

Cole won the round overall from Magee and Frost, which sees Suzuki’s Dennis Charlett – fifth overall on the weekend – lead the series into the final round at Taupo Motorsport Park on 14 March.
