Team Honda Racing’s Troy Herfoss will fly straight to Japan on Sunday from this weekend’s Australasian Superbike season-opener to test with the Dream RT Sakurai Honda team in the lead-up to round one of the 2015 Japanese Superbike Championship.

Herfoss will be competing in rounds one and three of the championship at Suzuka and Motegi, before testing and competing in the Suzuka 8 Hour endurance race in late July.

Dividing his time between competing for Team Honda Racing in the Australasian Superbike Championship and the time spent testing and competing for the Dream RT Sakurai Honda team, Herfoss is indeed living the Honda dream.

“I am really excited!” Herfoss said. “The opportunity to spend more time on the bike for the Sakurai Honda team before the Suzuka 8 Hour event is fantastic. I’ll be heading straight to the airport on Sunday after racing the first round of our championship just to make it to Japan in time to test for the first round of the Japanese championship.

“I can’t wait to get on the bike and work with the team to create a solid plan for the events I will compete in. The Sakurai Honda team is a very professional team and I look forward to learning all I can throughout my time in Japan.”

The opening round of this year’s Japanese Superbike series will take place at Suzuka on 18-19 April.
