Italian Niccolo Canepa will line up with the Grillini Kawasaki team as of this weekend’s Imola round of the 2015 Superbike World Championship, following the collapse of his previous Team Hero EBR outfit.

Canepa will tackle the remainder of WorldSBK with team Grillini Kawasaki, replacing Pedercini Kawasaki-bound Christophe Ponsson on board the ZX-10R.

“I’m glad for this opportunity, which came at the very last minute,” said Canepa. “After all that happened recently, I’m looking forward to contest the rest of the season with Team Grillini. It won’t be easy as I’ve never ridden the ZX-10R and I’m yet to know the team, but I will do my very best here and on every other track. I would really like to thank Andrea Grillini for this chance to stay in the series.”

Canepa will turn his first laps with the Grillini Kawasaki team on Friday morning when round five practice gets underway.
