Herfoss looking to further ASC series lead

Sydney to host round two of the season on Sunday.

Team Honda Racing press release:

Team Honda Racing’s Troy Herfoss enters Round 3 of the Australasian Superbike Championship as the series leader onboard his Honda CBR1000RR SP and has no plans to relinquish his position this weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park.

The season so far has been a positive one for Herfoss whose skill on the CBR1000RR SP continues to impress. Currently leading both the FX-Superbike Championship and the Swann Series, Herfoss has an unwavering focus on the long road to the title.

Heading into Round 3 this weekend, he commented, “I have a lot of confidence in the bike and the team going into this weekend’s event. The team has been working really hard to make sure we can remain strong at Round 3 in Sydney and I have been training hard. I believe we are heading in the right direction with the bike and I am really looking forward to getting out on track and seeing what we can do.”

Likewise, #2 Jamie Stauffer’s powerful return from injury at Mallala shows just how determined he is to ensure he remains in title contention. Stauffer finished Round 2 at Mallala Motorsport Park in 2nd overall in both series, winning 2 races.

Heading into Round 3 at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend, Stauffer says he is ready to battle for maximum points: “I can’t wait to get back on the bike at Sydney Motorsport Park and see if I can improve my championship standing further. I was pleased with my results from Round 2, especially given the injury, but now I really need to focus on winning as many races as possible if I’m going to have a chance at the title. I’m not that far off the top 3 in terms of points so we’ll see what we can achieve this weekend.”
