The Tech3 Racing Team has signed CEV Moto2 race winner Xavi Vierge for the remainder of the 2015 season, replacing Ricky Cardus from this weekend’s Indianapolis round.

After a promising last year with the team including a best finish of seventh at Catalunya, Cardus hasn’t finished inside the points during the first half of this season.

Vierge, just 18 years of age, was born in Barcelona and climbed through the ranks of the domestic scene in Spain, before competing in the CEV Moto3 class for two years and then moving up to the CEV Moto2 series.

Vierge is familiar with the Mistral 610 having successfully ridden it in the CEV Moto2 category this year to a race win and three additional podiums in the opening five rounds. He now gets the opportunity to make his first appearance in the world Moto2 class.
