Yamaha Racing Team with Yamaha Motorcycle Insurance (YRT with YMI) has unveiled a brand new transporter at this weekend’s fourth round of the 2015 Australasian Superbike Championship in Queensland.

After an eight month construction period and featuring a state of the art fit-out purpose-built for racing, the YRT crew will be housed out of the transporter for the first time at Queensland Raceway.

“It’s been a long time coming, but we are excited to have the rig rolled out at QR,” stated team manager John Redding. “The design of the interior has been something the team has worked on over the last 12 months, but we are really happy with the outcome and I’m sure it will make the race weekends a little more pleasant for the riders and the team members.

“The rig also represents the huge investment Yamaha Australia continues to make in racing as they strive for more professionalism and raise the profile of road racing. It will be a huge focal point in the pit paddock and anyone coming out to Queensland Raceway, come on over and check out the new truck.”

On track things are just as impressive for YRT with YMI, coming off victories at the most recent two rounds with Wayne Maxwell (Mallala) and Cru Halliday (Sydney). The current point standings have Maxwell in second place, Halliday third and Glenn Allerton fourth on board the all-new YZF-R1M.

“Like any new bike, it takes some time for the riders to get a handle on it and also for the team to understand what changes need to be made to suit the circuit and the rider on board,” Redding added.

“But while we were aware it was going to be a good bike, we have been surprised just how quickly we have been able to get up to speed and that is a credit to the riders and the team on the hard work they have put in.”
