Endurance racer to make British Superbike return at Oulton Park.
Honda Endurance Racing’s Julien Da Costa will join the Honda Racing team for the next round of the MCE British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park, standing in for Jason O’Halloran as he is recovering from injuries sustained at Thruxton.
The triple Endurance World Champion is contracted to be a reserve rider for the Honda BSB team and is no stranger to the British Superbike Championship after competing with MSS Kawasaki in 2009. Da Costa was also a wildcard entry for four rounds last year with Honda.
“I’m really looking forward to coming back to BSB again,” Da Costa said. “It’s just a shame that it’s in the circumstance it is with Jason being injured. Oulton Park is probably one of the most difficult circuits in the championship, so I know it won’t be easy but I will do my best for Jason and also the team. I think we can use the opportunity to try some different settings and continue the development work of the Fireblade.”
The next round of the MCE British Superbike championship takes place at Oulton Park on 4-6 September, where Da Costa will ride alongside Dan Linfoot and Jenny Tinmouth.
