Surgery scheduled for the MotoGP off-season.
Ducati Team’s Andrea Iannone has re-dislocated his shoulder, but plans to race at next weekend’s MotorLand Aragon MotoGP World Championship round.
During a training run, Iannone made a sudden movement that caused him to fall. As a result of the tumble, the Italian suffered a dislocation of his left shoulder, the same shoulder he injured back in May.
On Thursday morning he underwent an MRI scan in Vasto, Italy, and his shoulder was put back in place again. The doctors in Vasto gave him the all clear for any other major injuries, with the possible exception of his tendons.
With the Aragon GP soon approaching, Iannone is undergoing tecar therapy and will race, though not at 100 percent fitness. After Valencia he will have surgery on his shoulder to rectify the problem.
