FX-ASC series will be contested over six rounds next season.
Australian Road & Track Rider Promotions (ARTRP) has announced the provisional 2016 Swann Insurance Australasian Superbike Championship (FX-ASC) calendar, reduced to six rounds for next season.
The season’s first and final rounds will be contested at Sydney Motorsport Park in a two-day Friday/Saturday day and night format, while the mid-sector of the season will be traditional three-day events.
Sydney Motorsport Park will feature twice on the calendar – reduced from three this year – while the series will again visit Wakefield Park, Mallala, Queensland Raceway and Winton between March and December.
It’s been confirmed that the series will once again host the 2016 Australian FX-Superbike Championship (AFX-SBK) alongside the premier 2016 Australasian Superbike Championship across all six rounds in a continuation of its unique event scheduling.
ARTRP’s announcement effectively confirms the series will continue separate to Motorcycling Australia’s (MA) Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) next season, despite ARTRP stating recently that it has been open to discussions with MA for a potential merger.
