Technomag Racing Interwetten will have Australia’s Josh Hook on standby at Valencia’s final round of the Moto2 World Championship in case team regular Dominique Aegerter is declared unfit to ride.

Hook has stood in for Aegerter in the past three Moto2 rounds – Motegi, Phillip Island and Sepang – with mixed fortunes while adapting from his regular TSR Honda CBR1000RR to the Kalex grand prix contender.

“Josh continues to learn,” explained team owner Frederiic Corminboeuf. “He still has his superbike habits – one cannot get to understand how a Moto2 bike works in a few days. He will come to Europe for the final round in Valencia, where Dominique Aegerter will also be present. We have to see if Dominique is fit to ride, I think our main rider could ride on Friday, before we make a decision for the rest of the weekend.”

Last weekend in Malaysia Hook raced to 23rd position in hot and humid conditions, coming off a 20th place finish in Australia and a non-finish in Japan the week prior. He will be absent from this weekend’s final round of the All Japan Superbike Championship at Suzuka.
