Australian international mainstays Broc Parkes and Anthony West have been confirmed for this weekend’s highly-anticipated final round of the MotoGP World Championship at Valencia in Spain.

Parkes will takeover the Iodaracing Project ART of the injured Alex de Angelis in his first appearance of the season, in place of countryman Damian Cudlin after he opted out of the final round.

It’s been a mixed year of competition to date for Parkes this year, exiting the Milwaukee Yamaha British Superbike team mid-season and taking up a more regular role with Yamaha Austria Racing Team in World Endurance.

With a full season of MotoGP in 2014 as part of the Paul Bird Racing team to his credit, Parkes has also spent much of this year in a development role with Michelin, riding a Yamaha M1 MotoGP contender ahead of the French brand’s return to grand prix racing next year.

West meanwhile continues as fill-in rider for AB Motoracing’s Karel Abraham, who is also currently sidelined through injury. The Aussie had also deputised at Phillip Island and Sepang.

That makes for three Australians on the premier class grid once again this weekend, with LCR Honda’s Jack Miller wrapping up his first season of MotoGP before moving to Marc VDS in 2016.
