Aussie talent makes move to mid-capacity grand prix class.
Australian teenager Remy Gardner will step up to the Moto2 World Championship in 2016 following a promising first full world championship campaign this year within the Moto3 ranks.
Gardner, 17, was credited 30th in the Moto3 title chase on board a CIP Moto Mahindra, but will move up to Moto2 next year with the AGP Racing team using a Suter chassis.
The transition makes Gardner one of two Suter-based entries on the grid – the other being fellow Moto2 rookie Efren Vazquez on the Iodaracing Project team – all utilising the Honda control engines.
Gardner’s promotion to Moto2 makes him one of two Australians on the provisional grand prix entry lists fulltime alongside Jack Miller (Marc VDS Racing Team) in the premier class. It also indicates Australia will be absent from Moto3 next year.
