Kawasaki took the opportunity to unveil a number of special edition models and a supercharged concept design at the 2015 EICMA show in Milan, Italy.

The popular ZX-10R, ZZR-1400, Z800 and Z1000 were the machines that got the treatment with the ZX-10R Winter Test Edition based on the 2015 WSBK-winning Kawasaki Racing Team’s WorldSBK test livery currently in use over the European winter (view full details here).

Illustrations of Kawasaki’s SC-01 and SC-02 – or Soul Charger – concept machines were on display with pointers to the machine being a possible direction Kawasaki may take in the future. The SC-01 was released a few weeks ago and the SC-02 is more of a stripped back version of the faired SC-01.

The concept machine sketches are based around Kawasaki’s supercharged technology like that in the Ninja H2 and H2R with the Japanese manufacturer alluding to the possibility of these type of machines becoming mainstream production models.

The special edition Z800 and Z1000 Sugomi nakedbikes were also shown with unique colour schemes, anodized features and Akroprovic pipes. Named the Sugomi Edition, the Japanese word describes the intense aura or energy given off by a person or object of greatness and felt by the viewer. And don’t these two machines certainly do that!

A new Euro4 compliant ZZR1400 Performance Sport was also unveiled at the show. Equipped with Brembo M50 monobloc front calipers plus new disc rotors and radial pump master cylinder as standard fitment, Öhlins TTX rear shock, Akrapovic titanium mufflers plus wind-cheating bubble screen, they lift the ZZR1400 in terms of handling and performance.

While the ZX-10R Winter Test Edition, Z1000 Sugomi Edition and ZZR1400 will be coming to Australia, the exhaust is not included. Kawasaki Australia is yet to confirm if the Z800 Sugomi will be part of the range in 2016.

In the meantime, you can check out these machines and the full range in detail at www.kawasaki.com.au.
