Team Honda Racing has re-signed newly-crowned Australasian Superbike Champion Troy Herfoss and factory team mainstay Jamie Stauffer for the 2016 domestic superbike season.

An announcement from the Motologic-run team doesn’t indicate if the team will be defending its FX-ASC titles or switching to the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) fulltime into next year.

“Winning my first superbike championship is something I will never forget and to do it for such a professional team with such a great bike just made it more memorable,” Herfoss explained. “I am really looking forward to riding for Honda again alongside Jamie. The atmosphere in the team is fantastic and the guys always put in 100 percent at every event. I can’t wait to give it another crack in 2016 for Team Honda Racing.”

Next year marks Stauffer’s seventh consecutive season in the Paul Free-managed team, coming off the back of a strong end to this year’s FX-ASC series in which he finished fifth overall despite missing the opening round through injury.

“I finished the season on a real high this year and thoroughly enjoyed racing the Honda,” Stauffer said. “I’m keen to get out there for a fresh start in 2016 and battle it out for the championship. The bike was a dream to ride at the final event this year and continuing on with the same team of people behind me is definitely a bonus. Bring on the new season.”

Team Honda Racing will also take on Honda Australia’s factory motocross and supercross operation in 2016, announcing today it has signed Jay Wilson and Dylan Long for the expanded project.
