Taree talent Josh Hook has secured a fulltime position on the 2016 Motul World Superbike Championship grid after signing with the Grillini Racing Team to ride a Kawasaki.

Hook, 22, will be teammates with young Swiss racer Dominic Schmitter on board the team’s brand new ZX-10R machinery next season, coming off a full season in the Japanese Superbike ranks.

Australian Superbike race winner Hook headed to Japan this year and starred with a runner-up at the Suzuka 8 Hours, alongside Dominique Aegerter. He also filled in for Aegerter in the closing stages of the Moto2 season.

Hook becomes the second Australian on the WorldSBK grid for 2016, joining countryman Josh Brookes as the British Superbike Champion transfers to the world championship with Milwaukee BMW. Round one will take place at Phillip Island on 26-28 February.

Stay tuned for more to come.
