The 2016 Kawasaki Insurances FX300 Ninja Cup will feature a brand new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R as its major series prize when the season gets underway at Sydney Motorsport Park on 11-12 March.

A record level of support from Kawasaki Motors Australia will see the championship winner awarded with a current Ninja ZX-10R, while series runner-up will receive a Ninja 300.

“In 2016 Kawasaki are entering into the third year of supporting the Kawasaki Insurances FX300 Ninja Cup,” explained Robert Walker, national sales and marketing manager at Kawasaki Motors Australia.

“Kawasaki have a long heritage of racing throughout the world and production class racing is extremely important to the continued growth of road racing in Australia. The Kawasaki Insurances FX300 Ninja Cup is an affordable, entry level class.

“Riders are all on Australia’s best-selling road bike, the Ninja 300, and the class is continuing to attract experienced riders, new riders and the brightest rising stars. This is the most accessible production class racing in Australia and Kawasaki is excited to be involved for the third year.

“At conception the Kawasaki Insurances FX300 Ninja Cup idea was to create a production class that opened the path for rider growth through the racing ranks. So, to follow this idea, this year Kawasaki are lifting the bar by rewarding the Kawasaki Insurance FX300 Ninja Cup overall championship winner with the ultimate first prize – a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R with RRP of $22,000.

“History shows that the Kawasaki Insurances FX300 Ninja Cup always produces close battles for the series championships. The competitive racing is what we all want to see and encourage, so Kawasaki will also be providing a second prize for the series runner-up, a new Ninja 300 valued at $5799. A great year of road racing is ahead for all the teams and Kawasaki are pleased to be supporting the FX300 Ninja Cup in the Australasian Superbike Championship for 2016.”

Australasian Superbike Championship managing director Terry O’Neill said it was a great addition to have Kawasaki Motors Australia provide major prizes for the introductory production category at FX-ASC events.

“Kawasaki have really stepped up this year with two exceptional bike prizes that provide two very good reasons to be a part of the Kawasaki Insurances FX300 Ninja Cup,” O’Neill said. “With our three year rule once a competitor has won a bike prize they are not eligible to win another for three years makes these bikes very winnable.”

The series, which features sub-categories for Under 21s, Ladies and the ever-popular ‘FOB’ ranks for riders over 40, will include prizes for the entire top 10 finishers in the outright series.
