In WorldSBK practice this morning reigning champion Jonathan Rea was the fastest in the short 15-minute session at Phillip Island.

Rea was fastest from Ducati’s Chaz Davies, Michael van der Mark (Honda), Tom Sykes (Kawasaki) and Nicky Hayden (Honda).

It was a positive morning for the Australians in the field, with Mike Jones (DesmoSport Ducati) moving into the 1m31s for eighth despite a heavy late crash, while Josh Brookes (Milwaukee BMW) was 13th in the session.

WorldSSP practice was led by Kawasaki Puccetti Racing teammates Kenan Sofuoglu and Randy Krummenacher, with Jules Cluzel (MV Agusta) third.

Anthony West (Yamaha) was fourth and leading Aussie, with Glenn Scott (Honda) in 16th, Aiden Wagner (MV Agusta) 22nd, Mitch Levy (Yamaha) 23rd, Alex Phillis (Honda) 24th, Kane Burns (Suzuki) 25th and Lachlan Epis (Kawasaki) 27th.
