Sofuoglu claims first-ever WorldSSP Superpole position

The first-ever World Supersport Championship Superpole qualifying session was staged at Phillip Island this afternoon, with world champion Kenan Sofuoglu (Kawasaki) claiming pole position.

With more than half a second of advantage with a 1m33.142s over second placed PJ Jacobsen on the Honda, the reigning champion looks eager to retain his crown.

Anthony West (Yamaha) will be the first Aussie on the grid in 15th position, three ahead of Aiden Wagner (MV Agusta), who is picking up momentum during the weekend.

Then it’s Glenn Scott (Honda) in 20th, Alex Phillis (Honda) in 23rd, Mitch Levy (Yamaha) in 24th, Kane Burns (Suzuki) in 25th and 16-year-old Lachlan Epis (Kawasaki) in 27th.
