Clarke declared ASBK Supersport race two winner

Kawasaki-mounted Sam Clarke stormed to the second Australian Supersport race win of 2016 at Phillip Island Sunday morning in a shortened race.

Rainfall during the race forced an early stoppage, declared after just two laps with half points awarded by Motorcycling Australia race officials.

Clarke won the race from Mark Chiodo (Triumph), who highsided at turn one as the red flags came out. That meant he was still scored in second, over Ben Blyth (Yamaha).

Race one winner Troy Guenther (Yamaha) took a cautious approach for fourth position and a solid bag of points, with Chris Quinn (Yamaha) completing the top five.

On track earlier today talented youngster Locky Taylor won the third and final Moto3/125GP race of the round from Tom Edwards and Brian Houghton, who was victorious overall from Taylor and Edwards.

And in the Period 5/6 Historics t was Dean Oughtred who won race three of the weekend over Craig Ditchburn and Marty Craggill. Overall Ditchburn won from Oughtred and Craggill.
