Kawasaki Racing Team’s reigning Superbike World Champion Jonathan Rea has delivered the brand new 2016 Ninja ZX-10R a perfect debut at Phillip Island.

Rea scrapped his way to the race one win on Saturday, before repeating today in the second 22-lap affair. He led home Michael Van Der Mark (Honda) and Davide Giugliano (Ducati), who marginally beat Nicky Hayden (Honda).

Drama unfolded at turn four on the final lap when Chaz Davies threw away his hopes of a victory, the Ducati rider crashing out after losing the front-end. He remounted for 10th.

It was another positive outing for current British champion Josh Brookes, the Milwaukee BMW-mounted Australian battling to ninth, while countryman Mike Jones (Ducati) crashed out of contention earlier on.
