Australian regular in the World Supersport Championship Glenn Scott surged to his best finish ever in the series at Phillip Island on Sunday, claiming 12th on debut with the Lorini Honda squad.

Scott, 24, will embark on his second full season of WorldSSP in 2016, remaining on board a CBR600RR, but now with the Italian-based Lorini team. Australia was a positive start to his campaign.

“Being able to find eight tenths of a second in our warm-up session was such a great confidence booster and really showed that I have what it takes to be in the mix with all these great riders,” Scott explained post-race after challenging for an elusive top 10 result.

“I am overwhelmed with today’s result, both my team and I took small steps forward all weekend and we have started the season strong. The mixed conditions in the race certainly made it exciting and I am happy to mix it with the top ten and prove that we can arrive to a good result from here on. Massive thank you to my team for their hard work and a big thank you to all my sponsors.”

The next appearance from Scott and the team will take place at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand on 11-13 March, before the series moves back to Europe during the beginning of April.
