Triple Superbike World Champion Troy Bayliss returned to action this afternoon at Wakefield Park’s second round of the 2016 Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK), set to take part in the two-up experience program this weekend.

DesmoSport Ducati co-owner Bayliss, who is an ambassador for the ASBK series, will take fans on the ride of a lifetime at the Goulburn-based venue across the round on board his team’s immaculate 1299 Panigale S.

“I’d never ridden at Wakefield Park before, so we wanted to get on track, get a feel for it and prepare to take fans on pillion rides around the track this weekend,” Bayliss beamed following a brief trial run on Friday.

“It was actually a really good feeling pulling my gear on and then getting on the Ducati, it’d been a full year since I last rode a Superbike in the Thailand WorldSBK round during 2015.

“This weekend is another exciting one for DesmoSport Ducati, we feel well-prepared and confident of strong results with Mike Jones, plus it’s always nice to showcase the sport to more fans through the two-up experience program.”

Bayliss will join fellow ASBK Ambassadors Shawn Giles and Steve Martin on the 25-27 March race weekend at Wakefield Park, hosting competition winners for pillion rides on the back of their bikes for the experience of a lifetime.

The DesmoSport Ducati team co-owned by Bayliss will field reigning Australian Superbike Champion Mike Jones on board a factory-supported 1299 Panigale S throughout the 2016 ASBK series.
