Yamaha Racing Team’s Glenn Allerton is confident his qualifying position on the inside of the front row of the grid will serve him well in Sunday’s pair of YMF Australian Superbike Championship races.

After dominating the opening round at Phillip Island with three wins, Allerton has been on-pace all weekend in Goulburn’s second round and qualified third for tomorrow.

That third position on the YMI Superbike class starting grid will see the triple ASBK champion line-up from the right-hand side of the circuit, positioning him on the very inside in the run to turn one.

“I’m happy to start on the front row of the grid for tomorrow’s two races,” Allerton commented. “It was one of those sessions because of the wind it was going to be hard to get the most out of the bike.

“The inside of the front row is a good place to be, so I’m really happy to be starting the race from there. As long as I can get away well off the line I should be in a good position.”

Following a thrilling Superpole final qualifying session this afternoon in warm conditions, the front row will be filled by Crankt Protein Honda Racing’s Troy Herfoss alongside Yamaha duo Wayne Maxwell and Allerton.
