Form

Our pick:
Wayne Maxwell – The way Maxwell dominated that second race at Wakefield Park has to sound some alarm bells for his opposition. If he keeps that type of form up, don’t be shocked to see him become the third different overall winner in as many rounds.

Next best:
Mike Jones/Troy Herfoss – After a horrible round at Wakefield Park last time out, expect the DesmoSport Ducati entry of Jones to be right back at the pointy end. He’s won plenty of races at Sydney in the past – including last year – so this is his chance to climb back on top and an ideal time to show just what the 1299 Panigale S is capable of. And we hate to be fence sitters, but it’s impossible to leave Herfoss off this list considering he’s the title leader. Again, if things go to plan for him on Sunday and he minimises errors, he wins.

Outside chance:
Glenn Allerton – It seems strange to list one of the in-form guys as an outsider of sorts (as well as when you factor who is in Watch for below), but we’re tipping Allerton to be right there in the mix nonetheless. As we’ve mentioned, a confident Allerton is a fast Allerton, so if it clicks come Sunday he could snatch both races.
