Following his first Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship victory of the season at round two, Crankt Protein Honda Racing’s Troy Herfoss will lead the series into this weekend’s third round in Sydney.

Sydney Motorsport Park marks the halfway point of the six-round duration, with Herfoss carrying a two-point advantage over opening round winner Glenn Allerton (Yamaha Racing Team) entering Sunday’s races.

“Round two went well for myself and the Crankt Protein Honda Racing Team,” Herfoss said. “It is always nice to come home with a win at the end of the weekend, especially given that it was my home round and in front of family and friends.

“It will be good to have the team back together again with Jamie [Stauffer] returning from injury, we all work well as a unit and support each other on race weekends. We have a strong, competitive bike, so I am heading into the weekend feeling fit and ready – I know that I have the pace so am feeling confident about this weekend’s racing.”

Herfoss’ rise to become title leader during his home round at Wakefield Park last month came following a pivotal result on board the CBR1000RR SP, climbing from a 23-point deficit in fourth following Phillip Island’s opener to the top spot of the standings.
