Australian international Anthony West will make a start in this weekend’s Malaysian round of the Motul Superbike World Championship at Sepang with Pedercini Kawasaki.

The 34-year-old has competed aboard an assortment of equipment to date in 2016, including two rounds of World Supersport, in which he finished third at Phillip Island.

West will deputise for injured Frenchman Sylvain Barrier on board the ZX-10R, in what will be his first World Superbike appearance.

More widely recognised for his 600cc prowess in recent years, West starred in the Wakefield Park round of the 2016 Australian Superbike Championship, finishing second upon late notice in place of Jamie Stauffer at Crankt Protein Honda Racing.
