Superbike season debutant Brayden Elliott will set out this weekend to maximise his experience and confidence at the Barbagallo Raceway circuit to gain important Championship points at a critical part of the 2016 Australian Superbike Championship as the series heads to Western Australia with Brayden identifying the seven corner circuit as one of his favourite on the calendar.

With just three rounds completed in the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) for season 2016 so far, Brayden has already come along way in his development on the premier two-wheeled category in the country, up against some of the most experienced Superbike riders in the country. With that experience, combined with a recent last minute ride in America, Elliott is looking forward to continue to advance himself within the series.

“I am very excited to be returning to Barbagallo Raceway for the second time in my career and first time in the elite Superbike category. At each round of the ASBK series so far, I have been able to continue to gain experience and become more comfortable on the Knobby Underwear Suzuki GSX-R 1000. Added to this, the experience I gained competing in the MotoAmerica Championship recently, I am looking forward to this weekend immensely,” Elliott said.

A track that is recognised by one of the heaviest braking points of any circuit in Australia onto the main straight, in addition to flowing and sweeping corners compounds into Perth’s Barbagallo Raceway being a favourite of many on the calendar, in particular Brayden. Working closely with his vastly experienced team, Elliott is looking forward to piecing everything together for a successful weekend of racing in the west.

“Barbagallo Raceway is my personal favorite track and a circuit that I feel can also play to some of the strengths of the bike and myself. Since round three of the championship, I have placed a heavy focus on improving my own physical strength, which I feel will be a good benefit around the tight and technical track. There is so much that goes into completing a successful lap around Barbagallo so I’ll be making the most of each session on track and working closely with both Phil (Tainton) and Shawn (Giles) to get our bike heading in the right direction,” Elliott added.

A return journey of 7,196km to the fourth round on the calendar adds up to a busy weekend for every one within Elliott Racing. Having achieved success at Barbagallo last year in the Supersport category, Brayden is hopeful of another big result, this year in Superbike, both a reward to his hard work but also that of everyone making the season possible.

“Having the opportunity to compete at Barbagallo last year certainly brings back some great memories after a very successful event. I certainly can’t wait to be working with the team once again and giving it our absolute best for the upcoming round. It’s a big journey from Tumut to Perth and I genuinely appreciate the hard work and effort everyone puts in to make this possible. We will continue to put all focus on myself and work at achieving our personal goals to give myself the best opportunity for a strong result,” Elliott concluded.

Brayden will be on track for three practice sessions on Thursday with a further three practice sessions on Friday, two qualifying sessions on Saturday and two 20 lap races on Sunday. Brayden will also be in attendance at an official pre-event promotion at Hilary’s Harbour on Thursday evening with autograph and photo opportunities available.

Round four of the 2016 Australian Superbike Championship takes place at Barbagallo Raceway, Western Australia from 3-5 June.
