Fan Guide: 2016 ASBK Rd4 Barbagallo

Previewing this weekend's fourth round of the season.

Round four of the 2016 Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) presented by Motul Pirelli is upon us this weekend at Barbagallo Raceway in Western Australia. CycleOnline.com.au previews what’s to come when the lights go out.

Form

Our pick: Glenn Allerton – There’s something about Barbagallo that’s historically brought out the best in current title-leader Allerton and he’s the current lap record holder at the venue. The last time he raced ASBK in WA was 2011, when he won both races against the lot of his current opposition.

Next best: Wayne Maxwell – Trailing Yamaha teammate Allerton by just two points in the standings, Maxwell also has plenty of experience to his credit at Wanneroo and should be right there challenging every step of the way. In fact, if Maxwell can take this round out it’ll go a long way toward his title hopes.

Outside chance: Troy Herfoss – Crankt Protein Team Honda Racing tested at Barbagallo just last week, which bodes well for a strong result from Herfoss on Sunday. He wasn’t overly satisfied with the result in Sydney, but still within eight points of the series lead he’ll vie for victory in WA.

Watch for:
Mike Jones, Jamie Stauffer, Daniel Falzon
