Australian Jason O’Halloran finished third in race two at the Brands Hatch round of the 2016 MCE British Superbike Championship on Sunday.

The Honda Racing rider continued his charge into the Showdown sector of this year’s title race, with both Brands Hatch battles won by Shayne Byrne (Be Wiser Ducati).

Byrne was able to fend off Leon Haslam (JG Speedfit Kawasaki) and Luke Mossey (Quattro Plant Kawasaki) in race one, before he led home Haslam and O’Halloran in the second race.

It is now Byrne who has a 25-point advantage in the standings over Haslam in the title-chase, as O’Halloran comfortably sits in third position following round seven.

The return of Broc Parkes on the ePayMe Yamaha was a solid one going 6-13 in the races, while Billy McConnell (Kawasaki) went 12-15 and Josh Hook (WD-40 Kawasaki) posted 20-20 results.
