Luke George has taken a clean sweep of the FIM Asia Supermoto event this weekend in Newcastle, New South Wales.

Following a 19-second race victory yesterday, George repeated his result with yet another commanding performance on day two, claiming back-to-back race wins.

“I had an awesome weekend,” George stated. “Coming into this event I had no idea where I would sit in the mix. To be honest I was just hoping to make the top five.”

“To race against a class field like this and come out in front is a real surprise. This is a fantastic event and I will definitely be back to defend my title next year,” he added.

Michael Kirkness claimed the runner-up position following a third place finish in the second moto, while Malaysia’s Muhammad Habibullah was awarded third overall after completing day two in second.

Newcastle has secured the Australian round of FIM Asia Supermoto Championship for the next three years through the New South Wales government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.
