SA Kawasaki BCperformance’s Robbie Bugden won both races of today’s Australian FX-Superbike Championship at Sydney Motorsport Park, extending his championship lead to 50 points in the process.

Bugden qualified on pole position to start the round and then won the opening seven-lap encounter by 1.770s, before repeating that result with a slimmer 0.118s buffer in race two this afternoon.

The overall podium was swept by Kawasaki-supported racers, with Budgen topping Matt Walters (Kawasaki Connection Repsol) and Ben Burke (SA Kawasaki BCperformance) – the trio finishing in that order during both races. Rounding out the top five was Beau Beaton (Racer’s Edge Performance Craig McMartin Racing North Coast V-Twin Ducati) and Michael Blair (IPONE Yamaha).

In Supersport Kyle Buckley (SA Kawasaki BCperformance) claimed the overall via 2-1 finishes, trading race results with overall runner-up Mitch Levy (Yamaha). The podium was rounded out by Sam Muldoon (Kawasaki).

Additional overall victors to open this weekend’s fourth round included Sam Condon (FX300 Ninja Cup), Simon Galloway (Formula Oz) and Heath Griffin (Pro-Twins/Nakedbikes). The Swann Insurance Australasian Superbikes will take place on Saturday.
