Michael Blair Racing press release:

A second place and two fourth positions awarded Michael third overall and takes him to third place in the Championship. A huge effort in his first year of racing a superbike.

Robbie Bugden riding well took three first places, leaving three different riders to finish second in the three races, Michael Blair, Beau Beaton and Matt Walters.

The Yamaha R1 had been worked on overnight due to a crash in qualifying for Friday’s AFX-SBK racing where Michael qualified second on the grid.

Essentially a privateer the fantastic support from Yamaha, IPONE and Campbell’s Home Hardware is directed to the race bike. Michael’s results for the AFX-SBK racing on Friday reflected this as he was racing the spare bike. Grid positons for Race one of the Swann Insurance ASC are from the AFX-SBK result so Michael would start from second row in fifth for Saturdays racing.

A huge effort by the team ,Mick Poole & Matthew Blair as well as assistance from GASD Glen Allerton had the Yamaha YZF-R1 ready for Saturdays Swann Insurance ASC Round 4

Race one, Michael was racing in second trying to chase Robbie, although a gap had developed. Michael crossed the line in third, second placegetter Beau Beaton was relegated due to passing under the yellow flag.

With Michael finishing fourth in Race three, in front of Ben Burke, he had enough points to take third overall.
