Australian dirt track talent Jarred Brook has made his road racing debut at the final round of the Moto America KTM RC Cup in the United States of America last weekend.

Despite only riding aboard a road bike three weeks prior to the event, the 18-year-old recorded an impressive 20-26 scorecard after completing the two races.

“It was a lot of fun being back over racing in the USA again,” Brook expressed. “It was a great new experience to race on the road, against new people and on a new track. I went pretty well with the very little experience I have on the road.”

Brook mentioned that enlisting the help of three-time World Superbike champion Troy Bayliss was beneficial in his move from dirt to road, who assisted in making the transition as smooth as possible

“Troy’s (Bayliss) mentoring helped me greatly before I went over. His tips and advice helped me out a lot to change my style from being a dirt tracker to a road racer. Road racing has been something that I have thought about doing for awhile now,” he stated.

After experiencing his first taste of racing on the bitumen, the Queenslander is now seeking out alternative road racing opportunities.
