Bike: 2017 Kawasaki Z125 Pro KRT

Compact commuter gets World Superbike-inspired colour scheme.

Kawasaki has added another Kawasaki Racing Team replica to its model range with the Z125 Pro joining the ZX-10R, ZX-6R and Ninja 300s that all sport the colour scheme based on the championship-winning World Superbike machines.

“The highly-compact and lightweight Kawasaki Z125 Pro has been extremely well received since it first landed in Australia,” said Kawasaki Motors Australia’s Milo Dokmanovic. “The KRT variant makes it even better with the addition of striking Kawasaki Racing Team (WorldSBK) replica logos, colours and graphics, and therefore we are expecting this model to be hugely popular as well.”

Designed to have a sporty character, the quick-revving engine is designed to pull smoothly to redline for good passing performance with the compact commuter featuring an air-cooled, SOHC, two-valve engine. Maximum power is 7.1kW while maximum torque is 9.6Nm

The chassis uses a high-tensile steel frame and the highly-rigid box-section swingarm offers the strength to enable riding with a pillion or luggage. Front suspension is a 30mm inverted front fork while the rear suspension enables a compact overall chassis package with optimised linkage ratios and low shock mounting angle

Priced at $4199 – a $100 increase over the 2016 model – the 2017 Z125 Pro KRT is now available at Australian Kawasaki dealerships. You can find more information on the bike or the rest of Kawasaki’s range at www.kawasaki.com.au.
