Sepang out, Portimao in for next year's championship.
Dorna Sports and the FIM have released a provisional 2017 Superbike World Championship calendar, confirming 13 rounds once again next season between February and November.
As previously announced, the iconic Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit will open the series in Australia on 24-26 February, with Jonathan Rea poised to defend his championship as he aims for title number three.
Major news comes in the form of Sepang International Circuit’s Malaysian round being dropped in favour of Portimao, Portugal. The penultimate round remains to be announced, expected once again to be held at Jerez in Spain.
The premier WorldSBK category will feature at all rounds, WorldSSP all aside from Laguna Seca, and the all-new WorldSSP 300 category will visit each of the European rounds, as will the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup.
