Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing has revealed the re-signing of its two riders Toni Elias and Roger Hayden to contest the 2017 MotoAmerica AMA Superbike Championship aboard the all-new GSX-R1000.

Elias concluded this year’s championship third in the standings with six race wins to his name, while Hayden recorded 12 podium finishes and two race wins to credit himself fourth in the championship.

Suzuki’s race support manager Pat Alexander is thrilled to have the two championship contenders return for another year, particularly as the manufacturer will field a completely redesigned superbike model in 2017.

“We are very happy to have both Roger and Toni back with Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing,” Alexander explained. “With these two rider’s piloting our completely redesigned GSX-R1000, we have high hopes for a championship.

“They both rode the new bike and were thoroughly impressed with the improved engine and chassis performance, even in its stock form, so we are hopeful that this will give them the edge needed to secure a championship this coming season.”

The Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing team will make its racing debut aboard the all-new GSX-R1000 at the 2017 MotoAmerica season-opener on 21-23 April at Circuit of the Americas.
