Buckley wraps up Supersport championship double as well.
It was a winning weekend for SA Kawasaki BCperformance at Sydney Motorsport Park as Robbie Bugden and Kyle Buckley won their respective championships on Saturday.
Bugden made it the Superbike class double aboard his ZX-10R, however it was guest teammate for the round Josh Brookes who stole the show with the overall victory.
Race one went to IPONE Yamaha rookie Michael Blair ahead of Bugden and a charging Brookes, before the latter managed to move his way into position for a pair of wins to close out the championship. Third in race two enabled Bugden to clinch the title.
With the championship decided, race three was another thriller, as Brookes edged out Bugden by 0.062s for the win. Matthew Walters (Kawasaki Connection Repsol) and Beau Beaton (Racer’s Edge Performance/Craig McMartin Racing/North Coast V-Twins Ducati) filled the top five overall.
In Supersport Buckley’s second overall via 1-3-1-3 results was enough to take home the title from round winner Mitch Levy (Yamaha), with Sam Muldoon (Kawasaki) third overall. Fourth was Giuseppe Scarcella (Honda) after he won race four.
Other victors on Sunday in the final round of the season included Broc Pearson in FX-300 Ninja Cup as Sam Condon took the title, Simon Galloway (Formula Oz), Beau Beaton (Pro-Twins/Nakedbikes) and Thyron Van Vuuren (eFXC).
