ASBK numbers soar as anticipation builds for official test day

Motorcycling Australia press release:

The Australian Superbike Championship will launch its 2017 campaign at the Official Test Day this January 30th, at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, counting down the days until one of the biggest line-ups seen in years exits from pit lane.

The Official ASBK Test Day will cement the talent that will be showcased throughout the Championship this year, with most recently announced names as Yamaha supported Mitch Levy and Kawasaki supported Matt Walters confirmed to be competing.

Levy and Walters will be joined by already confirmed competing manufacturer teams of Yamaha Racing Team, Crankt Protein Honda Racing Team, DesmoSport Ducati, BC Performance, NextGen BMW Motorsports, to only mention a few.

Providing the perfect opportunity to test tyres, develop setups, re-familiarise themselves with the Island circuit and to scope out the 2017 competition, this Official Testing Day will prove to be most important leading up to the first outing in front of fans at round one.

Fans will be able to catch all the action from the Official Test Day live on the Computime website throughout the day, showing what pace will be set, and provide the first snapshot as to who may be a serious contender at round one.

The Australian Superbike Championship will host round one at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit in conjunction with the World Superbike Championship on February 24th to 26th.
