British Superstock 1000 Championship rookie Brayden Elliott will complete his first laps with the CF Motorsport Yamaha team at Calafat in Spain this weekend.

Learning to adjust to the challenges of extremely cold climate conditions, a new training routine and setting up life in the UK has had its challenges, but Elliott is eager to focus on racing, finally having the opportunity to ride with his new team on a new bike.

“I am feeling very excited and prepared ahead of my first 2017 test with the CF Motorsport team on-board the Yamaha R1,” Elliott said. “Over the past few months there has been so much to organise with moving to the UK and getting organised for the British Superstock 1000 Championship. I’m glad the wait is finally over and I can start testing with the team.

“The Calafat circuit in Spain looks fairly tight and technical, as I have been studying and preparing for quite some time. I will have three days of riding, where both the team and myself have the main aim of feeling comfortable and getting a good understanding of the Yamaha R1.

“Both mentally and physically I feel as though I am starting off 2017 in my best form and all of my pre-season training has continued to build my confidence as I continue adapting to the changes for the 2017 season.”

After finishing sixth in his debut Australian Superbike Championship season last year, Elliott will contest the British Superstock 1000 series, joined by countryman Sam Clarke – the current Australian number two – as he gets set for British Supersport.
