Reigning MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez has sustained a dislocated shoulder during a privater single-day test at Jerez, Spain.

With Friday’s planned schedule cancelled due to the track conditions, Repsol Honda duo Marquez and Dani Pedrosa hit the track on Saturday.

However a crash at turn seven during the afternoon saw Marquez briefly dislocate his shoulder. Following a visit to the medical centre he returned to the circuit afterwards.

“Today was a productive day, as we were able to do many laps and to work on our bike well,” Marquez said. “We did most of the work we had planned, which is good.

“I crashed in the afternoon and dislocated my shoulder, but luckily it was nothing serious. Now I’ll have some rest back at home and get ready for the next test in Qatar.”
