Verdict:
Few, if anybody, expected Daniel Falzon (JD Racing Yamaha) to score pole position, all three race wins and the overall at the opener, but that’s exactly what he did. And he looked comfortable doing it! While Falzon starred at the front, many of the title favourites faltered – not always through faults of their own. As a result, Falzon has a 22-point advantage in the standings from Robbie Bugden (Kawasaki BCperformance) and Troy Herfoss (Crankt Protein Honda Racing) is a further seven back. Check our race reports for all of the gritty details, but wow, there will be some seriously frustrated front-runners anxious to try and turn things around at Wakefield Park in a few weeks’ time.

Verdict:
All eyes were on Mark Chiodo (Triumph) after a dominant run through practice and qualifying, but a crash while leading race one changed the dynamics of the weekend. After more than a year off, Mason Coote (Yamaha) took two wins and the overall, beating Chiodo straight-up in the final encounter to cap off the weekend. Most interestingly, he isn’t even planning on completing the full season! Although that may change is funding can be raised. Aside from those guys Ted Collins (Suzuki) was consistently good and the battle behind them was definitely a tight one. We’re tipping there will be a broader mix up the front come Wakefield Park’s second round.
