MV Agusta Australia’s Chas Hern has been forced to sit out this weekend’s second round of the Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) presented by Motul Pirelli at Wakefield Park.

Hern was a popular addition to the grid at Phillip Island’s opening round riding a factory-supported F4 RC, qualifying 13th and crossing the line 14th in Saturday afternoon’s opening encounter.

However a crash in Sunday’s second affair put Hern out of the weekend altogether and they won’t make it back in time for the Goulburn event when practice commences on Friday morning. Plans are still in place to continue with the project at later rounds.

“The team put in a big effort at ASBK round one, but due to time we were not able to get the set-up needed,” Hern confirmed. “That also resulted in a crash that we have not been able to repair before round two, so I will not be making the trip to Wakefield this weekend.

“It sucks to miss out, but we would like to get some testing and a better set-up before we grid-up on this weapon again. Thanks to all the supporters and sponsors who got us there and I look forward to getting this right.”
