Verdict:
There was so much action in the pair of YMI Superbike races that it was almost impossible to keep up, but what did shine through was that Herfoss remains the king of Wakefield Park. Opting for slicks in race one, even though he was demoted to the back of the grid was a masterstroke and the way he rode (there were plenty of others who took the same option) was incredible. And he was yet again impressive in race two after missing his gear selection at the start, but the premature race-end forced him to settle for P2 behind Maxwell. For Maxwell, a race win first time out on Pirellis was a success, while a second overall podium in two rounds was impressive for Bugden. Notable mentions must go out to Hook (third in race one) and Halliday (who crashed out of P3 in race two). Of course though, Falzon remains the title leader and did exactly what he had to at Wakefield, considering all that was going on in both races.

Verdict:
If Herfoss winning the Superbike overall wasn’t enough, the Goulburn fans were treated to a hometown double thanks to rookie wonder Toparis winning race one and the overall. It wasn’t without its troubles though, as he had to come from the back to fourth in race two and Cube Racing successfully protested when he was excluded afterwards, securing him a first-career win. Another first-time winner emerged in Collins during race two, who is now the championship leader as a result and he is really coming on strong this season, plus Liminton could be proud of his overall podium on Sunday afternoon. Phillip Island winner Coote was ninth overall after going P3 in race two (he crashed earlier on), which puts him just one point behind Collins following his debut with AARK Racing. Things are just heating up!
