Australia’s Glenn Scott managed to put his Agro On-Benjan Kawasaki in the points at the Imola round of the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup (STK1000) on Sunday, finishing 15th following a hard-fought battle.

Scott, 25, moved forward from 26th on the grid to claim a point in the race of attrition that included three starts. It was a positive step forward that will serve as a real confidence-boost in upcoming rounds.

“My race was really positive,” Scott reflected. “I felt really comfortable and confident, I got a great start and was aggressive into turn one for the first time this season, taking a few positions, which cemented my run for the whole race. I learnt a lot throughout the race and I’m so wrapt to bring it home in P15 with my first championship point of the season.

“Myself and my team deserved It after the hard work we put in. Every race we’re improving, but this weekend we really made a positive step forward with both the bike and myself and I feel we are in a really good place to succeed for the remainder of the season. My confidence is high and I can’t wait for round four at Donington Park in just two weeks’ time to continue this great result.”

There’s been an increased interest in the STK1000 category for the 2017 season, as Scott and countryman Mike Jones (Aruba.it Racing – Junior Team) – who was eighth in Italy over the weekend, battle among the highly-capable locals in the European championship.
