Suzuki Australia has launched its top-selling DR-Z400SM and DR-Z400E with updated colour schemes including for the 2018 model year.
The 2018 Suzuki DR-Z400SM is now on sale boasting an all-new Solid Black colour scheme, with gold anodised Excel wheel rims.
A street and learner legal bike for serious dirt bike enthusiasts on pavement roads, it’s not uncommon for DR-Z400SM riders to be seen blasting down gravel fire tracks or their favourite twisty mountain roads.
Powered by a 398cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine that provides strong low-rpm torque and crisp throttle response for any of these occasions. 49mm Showa inverted front forks derived from the RM-Z motocross range makes for extra-smooth suspension action. Compression damping force is 21-way adjustable and rebound damping force is 19-way adjustable.
The progressive linkage rear shock absorber features fully adjustable spring pre-load, 20-way compression and 19-way rebound damping adjustability. The stylish tapered aluminium-alloy swingarm ensures precise rear wheel control.

Unifying Suzuki’s off-road motorcycle branding, it has now adopted yellow with blue accent styling inspired by the factory grand prix machine. Also a welcome addition for MY18 is the anodised black rims which perfectly complement the DR-Z’s sleek new styling.
Originally introduced in 1999 and becoming an Aussie bush icon with over 18,000 sold the DR-Z400E is a bike unlike any other currently available. Powered by a 398cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, four-valve, single cylinder, four-stroke engine with electric starting that produces broad, tractable power and torque, making obstacles such as long hill climbs a breeze. The air-filter can be easily accessed without tools, grease nipples are featured on the swingarm pivot and linkage bearings for easy maintenance.
